Auger Drilling

Auger drilling has a fascinating history which dates back to 250 BC, when Archimedes created the first known auger for moving water uphill. This ancient technology remains essential today. Auger drilling involves a helical screw which is driven into the ground. As the auger rotates, it penetrates the soil and brings excavated materials to the surface, keeping the borehole open and preventing collapse. The drill bit, resembling a screw with curved flights, rotates as pressure is applied, effectively moving the material upward.
